The challenge
An edge of settlement Greenfield site in the village of Ashford Hill.

The site is located outside of the settlement boundary of Ashford Hill and within close proximity to a site of special scientific interest (SSSI). JPP are looking to create more design led homes whilst ensuring there is no impact on highway safety, surface water, biodiversity, local services and the environment.  It is about creating a sense of place where people want to live and like any Greenfield site one of the main challenges is to minimise impact on the landscape and enhance the existing biodiversity.

The proposal
JPP have submitted an outline application for 45 dwellings.

The proposed 45 units includes 18 affordable homes, providing a range of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed homes which complies with the councils housing mix policy. In addition to open space within the site there will be a biodiversity net gain in excess of 10%. Through careful consideration the proposed indicative layout has been designed to reflect the pattern of development of the village and create environmentally friendly homes in a sustainable location.
